The determination to place an attorney on the Super Lawyers list is independent of advertising or any other payments. Rather, Super Lawyers identifies qualified candidates by using a multi-step evaluation process that incorporates peer recognition and professional achievement.
In its evaluation process, the Super Lawyers magazine research department examines the background and experience of candidates. Reviewing indicators include: verdicts and settlements; transactions; representative clients; honors and awards; special licenses and certifications; position within law firm; bar and or other professional activity; pro bono and community service as a lawyer; scholarly lectures and writings; education and employment background; and other outstanding achievements.
